Meet the Founder Behind Electra
I’m Heather Alvis, founder of Electra, mom of two, and lifelong systems thinker. I started this project because I couldn’t believe that something as forward-looking as solar energy had no plan for what comes after.For the past two years, I’ve worked full-time (without a salary) to build Electra from the ground up. We’ve won federal grants, been selected for national accelerators, and created partnerships across government, manufacturing, and clean tech. But more importantly, we’ve created a blueprint for how circular solar can actually work.I believe in thoughtful infrastructure. In the power of community-led systems. And in building things now that will still make sense 15-30 years from today.Electra isn’t more than a tech platform. It’s an ecosystem.

What does “Pre-Register” mean?
This is part of Electra’s early-stage crowdfunding campaign. By pre-registering your solar panels, you’re helping us demonstrate demand for a nationwide solar reuse and recycling system.You have the option to:
- Submit your panel info now, and pay later (within 12 months) good, or
- Pre-pay your registration at the rate of $0.04/Watt most helpful.Prepaid registration fees are not refundable by request. However, if Electra is not operational by January 1, 2027, or if the company closes, we will refund the registration portion of your payment (excluding taxes and transaction fees).
This structure follows standard crowdfunding terms.What happens after I pre-register my panels?
Your panel details are saved in our secure registry and assigned a digital ID. You’ll receive confirmation via email. You’ll be first in line for future benefits, and we’ll keep you updated as the program grows in your area.What if I don’t know my panel’s make or model?
Check your original installer paperwork, it's often listed there. If you don’t have it, you can contact your installer, or we’ll help you figure it out ([email protected]). You can still pay for registration credits even if you’re missing a few details.Is this binding? Am I locked into anything?
Nope. Registration is a low-risk, non-binding way to prepare for the future. You’re not committing to any service or fee right now unless you choose to contribute financially.What happens if Electra doesn’t launch or scale?
We’ve already won federal grants and built state-level partnerships. But we’re still in early stages. That’s why your support now matters, it helps us finish what we've started. Even if policy changes, we’re building this to be flexible, reliable, and future-proof.It looks like you already built a lot—how much of my money actually goes toward the product?
Great question.Over the past two years building Electra, the biggest lesson has been how to stay scrappy, creative, and relentlessly resourceful. Almost everything you see: this campaign, the artwork, the website, the videos, the partnerships, the strategy—has been built by me from the desk in my bedroom, or on a laptop at my kids' Ultimate Frisbee practice.Like many founders, I’ve worn every hat:

Pre-Registration Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: June 2025These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of Electra’s pre-registration platform, located at https://pre-register.goelectra.io, and apply to all users who submit information or payments as part of our early access campaign.By submitting your information or making a payment, you agree to these Terms.
1. Overview of Electra’s Pilot Program
Electra is currently in a pilot phase, testing a new system to support the reuse and recycling of solar panels through a national Product Stewardship network. This campaign is designed to demonstrate early demand, test workflows, and fund platform development.
2. Pre-Registration and Payments
Panel owners may pre-register their solar systems at a pilot rate of $0.04/Watt.
You may choose to submit your system details without payment during this phase, and still lock in the discounted rate for up to 12 months from your submission date.
You may also choose to pre-pay your registration fees during this campaign. Payment is not required to participate.
Pre-registration payments are not tax-deductible and do not constitute a donation unless otherwise stated.
3. Refund Policy
Pre-registration fees are refundable by request if Electra does not become operational by January 1, 2027, or if the company ceases operations, we will refund 85% of the registration portion of your payment, excluding transaction fees and taxes.
Donations made to support Electra’s platform build are non-refundable.
Pre-Registration and Refund Policy: Electra’s pilot program allows solar panel owners to pre-register their systems at our lowest rate of $0.04/Watt. You may defer payment for up to one year after submitting your registration. If you choose to pay during this campaign, your registration fee is refundable if Electra does not become operational by January 1, 2027, or the company ceases operations. In that case, we will refund 85% of the registration portion of your payment, excluding any taxes or transaction fees. Donations made toward Electra’s platform development are non-refundable under all circumstances.

4. Registration Fee Allocation
Panels can be drop-offed off after the registration date in 2035 for no additional charge (after 10 years) at our collection sites for no additional charge. Prior to 2035, a surcharge may be required to drop panels at a collection site.
50% of your donation helps fund platform development, network expansion, and public awareness.
5. Data Collected and Usage
By completing the registration form, you authorize Electra to collect and store the following information:
First and Last Name
Email Address
ZIP Code
Installation Address (if provided)
Panel Manufacturer, Watts, Year of Install
Number of Panels
Optional referral information
Your data is used to:
Assign a digital ID to your panels
Inform infrastructure buildout
Provide early reporting to stakeholders and investors
Contact you regarding updates to your registration, rewards, or status
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
6. Referral Program
Users who register may receive a unique referral code. If used by others, this code may accrue points in the Electra Points system or provide access to limited rewards.Electra reserves the right to modify or discontinue the referral program at any time.
7. Communications and Email Opt-In
By registering, you agree to receive transactional and occasional marketing emails from Electra. You may unsubscribe at any time, though some messages related to your registration may still be sent.
8. Modification of Terms
These Terms may be updated at any time. The most current version will always be available at https://pre-register.goelectra.io/terms. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
